Day-by-day itinerary

Day01 Islamabad to Mingora

We leave Islamabad at 8:00 am and take the Swat Motorway to Chakdara and on to Mingora, about 5 hours with a breakfast stop. After lunch and check-in we visit the Swat Museum near Saidu Sharif, then spend the evening at Fizagat on the Swat River. Overnight in Mingora.

Day02 Mingora to Kalam

After a late breakfast we follow the Swat River north through Madyan to Bahrain for a riverside lunch break. From Bahrain the road climbs to Kalam, about 3-4 hours of driving in all. The afternoon is free to settle in and walk along the river. Overnight in Kalam.

Day03 Ushu Forest and Mahodand Lake

Jeeps take us through Ushu Forest to Mahodand Lake, about 2 hours each way, with time at the lake for a short walk, a boat ride or a picnic. From about December the track is usually closed by snow, so winter groups spend an easy day in the snow at Ushu Forest and around Kalam. The evening ends with a bonfire and BBQ dinner. Overnight in Kalam.

Day04 Kalam to Malam Jabba and Islamabad

We leave Kalam at 8:00 am and drive about 3 hours to Malam Jabba for the chairlift and the views, with skiing and sledging on winter dates. After lunch we drive down through Mingora and back on the Swat Motorway, reaching Islamabad at around 8:00-9:00 pm.
