About this tour

A day in the pine forest at Shogran and the open meadows of Siri Paye, with jeeps from Kiwai and breakfast by the Kunhar river. Gold forests in autumn, snow from December. Run by Rumaix with our own coaster and tour captain.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day01 Islamabad to Shogran and Siri Paye

Depart Islamabad at 5:00 am on the Hazara Motorway and reach Balakot for breakfast at about 8:30 am. At Kiwai (about 9:30 am) the group moves into jeeps for the half-hour climb to Shogran and the rough track to Siri Paye, where we spend around two hours in the meadows. After lunch at Shogran we drive down at about 2:30 pm and return through Balakot and Mansehra, reaching Islamabad between 9:00 and 10:00 pm.

  • 5:00 am depart Islamabad, motorway to Mansehra
  • 8:30 am breakfast near Balakot by the Kunhar river
  • Jeeps from Kiwai to Shogran and on to Siri Paye
  • Siri Paye meadows and lunch break at Shogran
  • In deep snow Siri Paye is shut; we stay on the Shogran slopes
  • Back in Islamabad around 9:00-10:00 pm
